Okay, so I’m currently planning a project for VFW that will hopefully keep you all entertained (and the queue full) for a bit. I can’t tell you anything just yet, other than both text and images will be used. ;)
Remember that we as a fandom will never listen to negativity, only constructive criticism. The series may be finished, but Michael Pryor certainly hasn’t stopped writing. We have the 6 Laws of Magic books, The Extraordinaires series, Ten Futures, The Doorways Trilogy (which is sadly no longer in print), and whatever Mr Pryor comes out with in the future.
Plus, LoM is always a good read.
so stick around and I’ll let you know when it’s ready!
Dora is taking an extended hiatus away from VFW due to real-life commitments, so it’s looking like you’ll be stuck with me for a little while [and I too, have regular life to contend with]…
Here is one of the magic copper insects that I made (remember those awful coppery things that Dr Tremaine used to ensnare Maggie’s Crew and others)
As it turns out, Copper is quite rare (methinks of the prices/availability of Silver in Hour of Need…)
so yeah, for the next few months, pleease be patient with me- I also have lots of other things I have/like to do and running a dedicated fandom blog is harder than it looks… =D
(Apart from one I’m concocting about Evadne - but that one will have to wait and see.)
A brief recap: in ToT, AUbrey’s Beccaria Cage is hit by twisted Tremaine magic, causing him to be enveloped in a parotective armor that links his soul to his body again. So far, so yesterday.
But here’s a thing: when you die, your soul and your body are disconnected and the golden cord leads you through the black portal to the Mysteries Beyond. Correct? Correct. Now, we’ve never been told that the new shell protecting Aubrey’s soul only worked once.
Could he be… the Immortal Captain Aubrey Fitzwilliam?
Dora told me to put it up, and I’m being obedient. They’re not in ANY order, except for the order in which I thought of them (and really, considering my expertise in keeping on a singular thought train.. well it doesn’t say much for any sort of ordering system) i’m not going to link any of them, GoogleImages and IMDB works wonders I hear.. ;)
~Dame Maggie Smith as Lady Maria Fitzwilliam (who else in the world could possibly do this role?!)
~Cote de Pablo as Madame Zelinka OR Katya
~Sophia Myles OR Kate Winslet as Professor Anne Mansfield
~Johnny Depp as Dr Mordecai Tremaine
~Nicole Kidman OR Elizabeth McGovern as Lady Rose Fitzwilliam
~Michael Pryor as Maurice (possibly others?!)
~Helena Bonham Carter as Ophelia Hepworth
~Naveen Andrews as Lanka Ravi
~Rufus Sewell as Rodolfo from Veltrania OR Elektor Leopold (R.S. was in The Illusionist-very good!)
~Colin Firth as Sir Darius Fitzwilliam
~Paul Bettany or Jason Isaacs as Commander Craddock
~Hugh Bonneville as Commander Tallis
~Jean Reno as Captain Bourdin OR as Major Saltin (prefer M. Saltin)
~Sir Ian McKellan as King WIlliam OR other high ranking Albionite elder
~ Mark Williams as Lionel Hepworth
~Jim Broadbent as Baron Sigfreid von Grolman (not 100% convinced with this one)
~Ben Miller as Clive Rokeby-Taylor (not quite evil enough for me, but he’s almost what i picture.. almost..so this may very well change.)
~Rowan Atkinson OR Hugh Grant as The Great Manfred (comedic relief or not?)
~Adrian Rawlins as Jack Figg
~Stephen Lang as NCO Sergeant Wallace
okays.. that’s the initial list I came up with, just actors that i personally think would fit like a glove in those roles.. or close to.. or not (any notes in parentheses dictate otherwise)
i’m very open to suggestions and additions, and don’t forget it’s NOT an actual cast list, it’s MY dream cast (meaning it’s VERY okay for you to think this list sucks.)
'Do not step in the water,' came the hushed order.
